Last night I couldn't sleep because I had all these important questions running around in my head, like:
Why do dogs bury bones?
Is it because they want to have a snack later?
Or does the taste improve while the bone is underground?
Is it like the delicacy in Norway and Iceland where the raw fish is buried for several months to give it the specific taste, that the locals call the taste of the Zombie-Fish?
It is indeed possible, but highly unlikely.
Because the stupid dogs never remember where they buried the bones, do they.
And they also do not set any date marks on he bones like: „Yeah, this big one will be ready in two days. I also buried one today, you know with a special mix of saliva, we can taste it in 6 moths. Woof!“
It all seems awfully random.
Therefore I think the main evolutionary reason why dogs bury bones is just to piss off archeologists.
„After 3 years of continuous work on a site where archeologists hoped to find the remains of the predecessor of modern human all they found were the bones buried there 5 years ago by the neighbors dog „
